Besides helping young women to successfully pass their JC’s and to build up substantial life skills, Springboard Humanism has established a Youth Club for the youth of Molepolole. During the weekly sessions, which take place every Saturday from 8.30 am to 12 o’clock, children from the neighbourhood come to SBH, where they have the opportunity to take part in different activities, ranging from games, handicrafts to singing and storytelling. This chance to socialize is vital to facilitate skills in communication, friendship-building and conflict resolution.
The Youth Club enjoys a good response. There are always around 10-20 kids, from about 8 years to 14 and even 15 years of age, who regularly bring their young siblings (about 3 years of age) with them. The sessions are usually led by a German Volunteer based at SBH, but they are occasionally supported by other facilitators, who offer special events and activities for the participants.
