Apart from the main work of helping young women to successfully pass their JC’s and to build up substantial life skills, Springboard Humanism has extended its work onto some further areas of learning. One of these newer projects is the Training Café, which is situated on the premises of the SBH. Springboard helps one young woman at a time to gain basic competence and knowledge in business, economic and social skills. This tutoring lasts one year and has its focus on improving the communication and customer service skills of the women. The aim is to help the women to find a job in the catering and hospitality branch. The tutoring follows a holistic approach, including life-skill training to develop a positive self-esteem, a sense of value and to enhance their self-confidence.
The SBH aims to support them to increase their chances of employment and so to achieve economic self-sufficiency. Being economic independent they can take care for themselves as well as for their children, siblings and families and be a role model for others in their community.
The Training Café offers special events, like storytelling, nature walks or art exhibitions, on regular basis. Besides, the Café facilities can be used to host meetings or social Events.
